Today the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV) announced that American Airlines has joined the growing list of airlines that do not transport primates for the research industry.

American Airline’s policy is made clear on its website:

“Note: AA Cargo will not accept primates used for laboratory research, experimentation, and exploitation purposes.”

Caribbean Airlines is one of the few remaining airlines still involved in this cruel trade. Caribbean Airlines has transported monkeys from Barbados to the United States in recent years.

Please contact Caribbean Airlines and urge them to follow the lead of American Airlines and end their involvement in the transport of primates destined for the research industry. You may want to mention that you will not fly with the airline until they enact a policy against transporting primates.
